Would you believe that a PR5 blog with an Alexa ranking of 42,168 and averages less than 20 comments per post was bought from its owner for $15 million? Yes, a fairly regular blog named Bankaholic
, which provides info on deposits, savings accounts, and money market accounts is being acquired by Bankrate
, a financial information site. This is part of Bankrates expansion of its financial products listing. Bankrate will pay John Wu, the owner of the blog, $12.4 million up front and then pay him $2.5 million in the next 12 months. John Wu will be staying with his blog during the transition and will probably remain (or be hired by Bankrate) working for his blog as a Bankrate employee.
