Facial Profiler

Saturday, December 26, 2009

There's a new Facebook called Facial Profiler, it enables you to find people who look exactly like you. Here is what i gathered from an article from Gather.com about Facial Profiler:

The Facial Profiler, a new facebook app, is actually an ad campaign launched by Coke Zero, its point being that the calorie-free version is so much like the real thing, they can prove it by showing that every single person on the planet has a doppelganger. Here's how it works: you upload a photo of yourself and you're matched with a similar-looking Facial Profiler user. The idea is that you can find your mirror image, just the way Coke has in Coke Zero.

The concept is quite old but Coca Cola is able to give it a new twist. Here is the sreen shot of the Coke Zero Facial Profiler page:

A number of users are reporting issues with a number of data-centric BlackBerry services including BlackBerry Messenger, the web browser, and third-party apps using data connections. BlackBerry Reporter speculates the BlackBerry Internet Service (BIS) may have been down for several hours and counting.

It can be remembered that the last Blackberry outage was just a week ago. The outage is not really experienced by all users, there are certain carriers that are affected but not all. Some of those who experienced the outage are now reporting that the service is back for them.

Moviestorm

Making movies is one of my secret dreams. No, I am not dreaming of becoming an actor, I am dreaming about becoming a filmmaker. That is just a dream but if the opportunity to make little clips, small music videos and the like comes knocking at my door, I will not hesitate too grab it. Well the opportunity has just knocked at my door in the form of Moviestorm, a fun way to make movies, anything from short clips, greeting cards & music videos to full-length shows. I just came upon their site a while ago. With MovieStorm, anyone can make short movies of their own because it doesn't really require you to have any movie-making or animation experience. But an experience with movie-making and animation is a plus; I have some animation and video editing experience so I have the edge, it makes creating clips and animations a breeze with Moviestorm, I'd be able to focus on the creative process and not hindered by the technical side of creating short movies. If you want, you may check it out, no need to shell out some cash because the basic set-up is free, but you can pay for extra characters, props & animations if you want. There areMoviestorm subscriptions that you can actually try, with it you get a lot of cheaper content. If you are the absolute noob, you can begin with PhotoStorm, it allows beginners to put together still images in a movie.

You know, it'd be good to go to MovieStormm site and see their Moviestorm widgets. Here is an example of the MoviStorm screenshot, to give you an idea how easy it is to use:

GoogleGoogleGoogleGoogle

Wednesday, November 25, 2009

Some guys have all the knack at finding simple but great ideas. At first glance, the guy who bought the domain GoogleGoogleGoogleGoogle.com may look as if he is just joking but when it all sinks in you'll realize that what he has is a great idea. Why? Just check out the site GoogleGoogleGoogleGoogle.com and see great ingenuity in action. If after you visit the site you are still blank about why GoogleGoogleGoogleGoogle is such a great idea, then come back to this post and read the paragraph below for the explanation.

GoogleGoogleGoogleGoogle
Like many people, I use Google so much that most of the time I have many tabs open for Google. Switching from one tab to another is quit a hassle so it is great to have four Googles in one page. With this site I can now work four times faster.

I guess the guy who bought the domain just got it cheap (around $10) because who would think that Googlegooglegooglegoogle is such a great idea?

Passive Online Income Streams

Monday, November 9, 2009

When I first started earning online more than a year ago, I only had what I considered then as my "active online income." I thought that earning around $200 a month from writing paid posts in my blogs was a good enough source of "active online income" and I was satisfied with it for about four or five months. I seriously believed then that the average blogger like me can only earn as much as $200-$300 a month. But then I slowly got bored with the $200 a month income from paid posts in my blogs so I started thinking about other ways of earning online. I started reading up on topics about how to earn from Google Adsense because I heard that some guys are pulling thousands of dollars a month from it. I read and read and read and experimented and experimented and experimented until I came upon the formula that worked for me. I started earning bigger each month from Adsense and I lost interest in paid postings--it has lost its glitter in my eyes. Of course Adsense became my main source of active online income. A few months ago I have broken into the realm of $1,000 a month of Adsense income. That is what I consider active online income now. I know that most regular office guys can only dream about this kind of monthly income. But even if I am earning a lot from that I still try to find other ways to earn more, that is why I have what I now consider as my passive online income streams, I consider them passive because I really do not consciously count the money that I can earn from them, I just let them be there and hope that when I check on them every once in a while when I remember them, I see a few cents trickling in; an extra few cents a day is always welcome. I have as of now three sources of passive online income : CPALead, Infolinks, and Adbrite.

So far the best performing of the three sources of passive income I mentioned is CPALead. I applied for an account with them on October 5, I got approved on October 6 and I started earning on the 7th. So far so good, and I will receive my first payment from them on the 30th of November (he he that is just two weeks away). Here is the screen shot of what I will be getting from CPALead on the 30th of this month:

I am really tempted to click the "Get Paid Early" button but I am holding my self back because I want this money to come in when my Adsense earnings comes in also on the 30th; I want a big bang you know. I think I will elevate CPLead into "active income" because I am really making good money from it. If I will give more time to it, I know that I can double the amount shown in the screen shot above. Actually, I started taking CPALead seriously, two days ago I built two sites that are designed to allow me to make more money from CPALead. Here is the screen shot of my "month-to-date" CPALead earnings:

I was not able to really look into my CPALead-earning websites in the last two weeks but still they earned quite good. I guess I have to add more sites for my CPALead ventures and make some tweakings here and there. My goal is to earn at least $1000 every month from CPALead alone. I guess it is easy to achieve this, by then CPALead would become a source of active income for me, but as of now I still consider it a passive source of income.

The next source of passive online income for me is Infolinks. It is really very easy, no sweat at all, I just placed Infolinks code in 2 blogs and here is what I have been earning in the last three months:

The next one is Adbrite, this is something that I have forgotten about for some months then I remembered it lately and checked what it has brought me in the many months that have passed. This is what I got:
I will receive my first check from Adbrite on the first week of January 2010, it would be around $200 because I now average $12 per week (lol!) in Adbrite and I am now in the $180 mark, so by the end of December I'd be around $210 or more.

Passive online income can bring a smile to your face, especially when the money is already in your pocket. Now i am looking for more ways of getting more passive income streams, I have just been accepted by Adscend Media and I guess I'd be earning good from them. Now I need to end this post because I have to build two new websites for my Adscend Media ventures. I'll give you an update later about my performance with Adscend Media.

Facebook Chat within Google Talk and iChat

In the coming months chatting online will have big changes, especially if you are a Facebook user (who isn't?) because Facebook Chat within Google Talk and iChat is just around the corner. This means that Facebook users will soon be able to use Facebook Chat within Google Talk and iChat. When will we start enjoying this development? According to Process One it is really near, here's what the say:
It now seems the launch is close as the XMPP software stack has been deployed on chat.facebook.com, as our bot at IMtrends have found out: chat.facebook.com on IMtrends.

Boost Your Website's Visibility with Web Directories

Boost Your Website's Visibility with Web Directories

If you are new to making money online, you need to know the significant role web directories have in boosting your website's visibility. For you to rake in thousands of dollars every month, your business' website must be visible. There are miliions of websites in the world wide web and you know that you need to do something with your blog or website for it to be visible. How can you compete with millions of other websites? The answer is search engine optimization or SEO. The search engine is what millions of people use to find what they want to find in the internet and if you want the search engine to see your blog every time someone searches something that is related to your website's content, you must optimize it for the search engine so that it will be ranked high in the search engine results page (SERP). Search engine optimization is a deep mystery to many but once you understand its basic principles, everything will come clear and you will know will know what to do in order for your site to be visible.

Now, you may be wondering about the connection between web directories and search engine optimization. A web directory is different from a search engine. A search engine spiders or crawls the world wide web to find new web pages and then indexes those pages according the relevance it attaches to those pages; the more relevant the pages to a search query, the higher it is ranked in the SERP. A web directory on the other hand specializes on linking to websites and categorizing those links. Web directories are important to SEO because they provide backlinks to your website. Search engines like Google give more weight and importance to websites or web pages with many inbound links provided that the inbound links come from good sources. I guess you are now getting the picture. If you submit your website to web directories, you get many good backlinks or inbound links to your site. The kind of inbound links you get from web directories are of high quality because web directories do not just accept a website, they have humans to review submitted websites manually. Good examples of web directories that you can use are DMOZ, a multilingual open content directory, and business.com, a business web directory. There are many web directories around where you can submit your website but you should be picky in choosing them, it is better to submit your site to one particular SEO friendly web directory than submit it indiscriminately to a number of web directories that are not very authoritative.

Once your site is accepted in a number of good web directories, the search engine will recognize the weight of the links to your site from those web directories and rank you higher in the SERPs. Once that happens traffic will begin to get hight and your income will surely skyrocket. Of course there are no short cut method to anything and SEO entails a lot of hard work. But once the hard work has paid off, you will see how sweet it is to have your pages dancing high in the SERPS. But remember, SEO is not only about submitting your website to web directories, it is more than that, web directory submission is just part of it, but a very important part at that.

Firefox 3.6 Beta

Firefox 3.6 Beta
I am quite disappointed with Firefox lately because it crashes frequently; I have noticed that it crashes when I view certain Blogger blogs, I really don't know if the crashes have something to do with something in Blogger blogs. I read somewhere that the cause of the crash is the followers widget in Blogger. I am using Firefox 3.5.4. I know that it is not only me who is experiencing these crashes, I often come upon some blog posts complaining about the frequency of Firefox crashes. Now I am trying out Firefox 3.6 Beta to see if the crashes would still occur. As of now i am using Chrome and Opera but I really hope that Firefox would be back in its normal good performance in the new version. Here is what Firefox 3.6 Beta promises to give its users:

* Change the way Firefox looks using Personas.
* Keep your plugins up to date.
* Watch full screen video.
* Enjoy typography on the web using WOFF fonts.
* Feel the speed with improved JavaScript performance, browser responsiveness, and startup time.
* Get the most out of the web with support for new CSS, DOM, and HTML5 web technologies.
* Open, native video can now be displayed full screen, and supports poster frames.
* Support for the WOFF font format.

Facebook and MySpace Partnership?

Tuesday, October 27, 2009

Yes, Facebook and Myspace are now talking about sharing content, this is according to high ranking officials of both social networking websites. Sheryl Sandberg, Facebook's COO, gave The Telegraph the following statement:
“Facebook is focussing on building the best technology which helps people share content, while at MySpace they are focussing on more a content-led strategy. We would like to have their content, as we already do with many other sites, shared across our network because it is good for our users.

“We are open to working with MySpace and are in talks with them at the moment. Owen (Van Natta, MySpace’s chief executive) used to work at Facebook and we are still very close to him.”

When asked how the partnership could work, Ms Sandberg explained: “Hypothetically speaking, as nothing has been formally arranged yet, MySpace could become a Facebook Connect partner – which would allow people to share content they liked from MySpace with their Facebook network.”

MySpace's CEO, Owen Van Natta has this to say:
"We are in talks with Facebook, and other sites, about how we could partner with them," he said. "Partnerships are going to be a big part of our strategy moving forward as a lot of value can be derived from them."
What would this development bring to the users of Facebook and MySpace. If this move is managed well, I guess we users of the two social networking sites would benefit from it a lot. I guess the two organization are seeing that they can complement each other.

Registry Cleaners

Wednesday, October 21, 2009

I want my PC fast that is why I always have some registry cleaners around. I can be comfortable with my computing without registry cleaners. Don't you know that one of the secrets of maintaining a fast PC is in having a squeaky clean registry? Yes, it's not only the hardware that matters, it is also in the registry. The registry is where the heart of the PC is. The registry controls everything. If the registry is clogged with junk, your PC's performance would be affected so it is a must to clean your registry every once in a while. There are many registry cleaners around but if you want to know about the best ones, it is good to check out RegistryCleaners.com for the latest and the best registry cleaners that you can have.

Woohoo, what is Droid up to giving iPhone sharp jabs in its new TV spot? The TV ad is short and simple but every second of it is like a boot on the face of iPhone. The TV spot is called Droid Does and its message is clear:

Here is the Droid Does TV spot:

Kanzius Machine

John Kanzius, an American inventor and radio and TV engineer was suffering from leukemia that is why he developed his very own radio wave machine in the hope that it would help cure him. His machine is now known as the Kanzius Machine. Kanzius put his body into his machine and turned it on in 2008. Although Kanzius died on February 2009 and it is not yet proven if his invention really help cure cancer, it has become something of interest in the medical field. The Kanzius Machine was featured on CBS's 60 Minutes, here are CBS videos about the machine:

I hope further studies would lead to the development of machines that would really help cancer patients. The Kanzius Machine is a step towards that goal.

Farmville Crop Whisperer

Friday, October 16, 2009

It seems that everyone is playing Farmville and I am the only one left not playing it. I have a farm in Farmville but I don't have time to till my virtual farm, it is my four-year-old son who cares for my virtual farm. My son knows a lot about farmville and now he told me about this new feature called Farmville Crop Whisperer. What is it? To be honest, I really don't know, but based on what I have gathered from my son, this new feature allows players to randomly select users gift, and recognize 5 bags of fertilizer each day. What is its implication on the game? Again, I really do not know, I'll ask my little boy about it.

Blackberry Storm 2

The second version of the touchscreen emailer has arrived, the Blackberry Storm 2 is here and it boasts of many improvements. Blackberry Storm 2 is way better than its predecessor in many ways. Even if at first glance it looks as if there are only a few visible changes on the surface, there are actually changes that could make you smile. The first good improvement is in the speed, this baby is way way faster than the original Storm. No more bugs and the delays that users experience when typing. It now boats of scrolling and swiping that really work. It has a new SurePress keyboard with auto correction which makes it possible for users to roll over keys and prepare for the next push. Physically, it looks slicker than the original version, and read this: it has WiFi, 3G, and a 3.2MP camera. Here's a video of the Blackberry Storm 2:

Turns Your Computer Into a Server with Opera Unite

Wednesday, October 14, 2009

Opera has announced the release of Opera Unite, a product that is said to "reinvent the web." What is it exactly? This browser, Opera claims, can turn your PC into a server because Opera Unite is a web server in the web browser.

Opera CEO Jon von Tetzchner said about the product:
"Today, we are opening the full potential of the Web for everyone, technology moves in distinct cycles. PCs decentralized computing away from large mainframes. Opera Unite now decentralizes and democratizes the cloud. With server capability in the browser, Web developers can create Web applications with profound ease. Consumers have the flexibility to choose private and efficient ways of sharing information. We believe Opera Unite is one of our most significant innovations yet, because it changes forever the fundamental fabric of the Web."

Opera Unite allows you to enjoy the following: file sharing, web server, media player, photo sharing, chat, and "the fridge," which allows users to post notes on their friends' "virtual refrigerators." I have just downloaded it and I am testing it. I will put in some updates after I have used this app for a few days.

Google Building Maker

Google announced on Tuesday the Launch of Google Building Maker, a 3D modeling tool for adding buildings to Google Earth. This tools is for anyone who wants to help Google enhance Google earth with renderings of buildings from selected cities around the world. From what I gathered, the tool is easy to use, all one needs to do to make a building is first select a city from around the world, then make a building from the photos Google provide, then save the building for review. If the submitted building passes the review it will become visible in Google Earth.

Google product manager, Mark Limber, and Matt Simpson, Google user experience designer, wrote in the Google Blog:

"We like to think of Building Maker as a cross between Google Maps and a gigantic bin of building blocks. Basically, you pick a building and construct a model of it using aerial photos and simple 3D shapes – both of which we provide."

PhotoSketch

Tuesday, October 6, 2009

I envy the guys who created PhotoSketch because they have brought into being a software that is based on a simple idea but could bring results that could blow your mind. PhotoSketch is a photomontage software that can take any rough sketch made by hand and turn it into a beautiful photograph. The software will search the web for the appropriate images to use in the montage based on the labels one puts in the sketch. When it finds the appropriate images, the software will then stitch images together to come up with a perfect image based on the sketch. The video below explains the process perfectly. Prepare to be blown away.

Quick Fixes For DLL Issues And Other PC Problems

Monday, October 5, 2009

Did you know that most of the issues and errors generated due to problems in your Windows operating system, computer applications and other software can be quickly repaired if you have the right information?

A lot of computer users may find this difficult to believe because they cannot even make sense of the error message on the screen. But no matter how intimidating or confusing the error message may be, the underlying problem is usually not difficult to resolve if approached logically. One such problem that you may encounter while working on your computer is the DLL error or Dynamic Link Library error. This article will help you understand DLL problems and how to fix these issues quickly.

DLL errors occur when something goes wrong with files with the .dll extension. These files are added to your computer by the Windows operating system and all applications that are installed on your computer. The main job of DLL files is to act as a library of files that can be called upon by applications to perform the designated task which is general in nature. Since no application can do without these files, any DLL error can severely disrupt the functioning of your PC. Also, because these DLL files are present in very large numbers on any computer, the chances of your encountering a DLL error is relatively high. This is why you should know how to fix these errors yourself.

Your PC can generate DLL errors due to any of the following common issues:

  • Infection by Virus or Spyware - An example of this is the bridge.dll file which is loaded in a computer by spyware.

  • File not found errors - A DLL file may disappear and it may affect the application. Xprt5.dll application error related to AOL is an example of this.

  • Improper installation – Sometimes the files of application that you have downloaded are not complete and when you install this application, it may generate DLL and other computer errors.

  • Incomplete uninstallation – A few DLL files of an application or its entries in the Windows registry may get left behind when it is uninstalled and cause problems

  • Driver issues – Obsolete or corrupt drivers of the peripheral devices are known to create DLL issues

  • Hardware problems – Malfunctioning of any of your hardware part can lead to DLL errors.

DLL Error Fixes

In order to quickly fix DLL errors, you must immediately write down the error message and start searching for its resolution on the Internet. You will find that recently a few websites that are purely dedicated to DLL problems have been launched and these are quite helpful in providing solutions to DLL problems.

A majority of DLL problems pertain to missing or corrupt DLL files which can be usually fixed by uninstalling and then reinstalling the application that generated the error. You may also try to download the concerned file and restore it in its appropriate file location.

Similarly, errors caused by virus or other malware can be resolved by cleaning up the PC with the help of a reliable anti-malware tool.

Errors related to outdated or corrupt device drivers are quite simple to resolve. The concerned driver just needs to be updated or replaced. You can seek help of a good driver scanner and update tool to do this task for you automatically.

You must make it a point to clean your Windows registry after performing the above tasks to ensure that any remnants of the issue in the registry are also removed.

Web Hosting, Dedicated Server, and VPS Hosting Knowledge

Sunday, October 4, 2009

An online business is one of the best businesses that anyone can have today as more and more people are getting on the web. There are many advantages in having an online business; it is easier to set up, easier to manage, and cheaper to maintain. Setting up an online store is way easier and cheaper than setting up an offline one. An online store has more reach than its offline counterpart; the offline store is local whereas the online one is global. Anyone with a small capital and a good working knowledge about the the ins and outs of the internet can easily succeed in any online business. Starting a business on the web is not as difficult as many would like it to appear; the knowledge that one needs to succeed in an online business can be gleaned for free from the web itself. If you know what to look for and where to look for it then you are on your way to success.

What are the things that one needs to know to succeed in his chosen online business? First he must know some basic SEO or search engine optimization. Contrary to what many people want you to believe, SEO is not that difficult to understand. The web is full of free information about this subject. You can easily get a good grasp of SEO with a few hours of reading. A good knowledge of web hosting is also necessary because web hosting is the backbone of every online business. Consider a web space you have bought as your virtual estate, just like an actual space in a building where you can put your store. Knowledge in web hosting will give you the edge over your competitors. Choosing your web hosting provider should not be based on guesswork because you need to make the right choice the first time you do it. Your choice of web hosting provider can make or break your online business. Of course for the uninitiated ones, it is not easy to identify the bad web hosting providers from the good ones. So how does one know which is the best web hosting for his business? The answer to that is in web hosting reviews. There are websites that provide web hosting reviews but the most reliable one that I know of is Web Hosting Geeks. This site has been around for years, providing web hosting reviews, rating and awards for free. Anyone could visit their site and learn about the best web hosting providers around. Their reviews are independent and are based on best price-value ratio, host reliability, uptime, key features, bonus features, customer support, past and current user feedbacks, user-friendliness, and many other factors on which good web hosting can be judged on. Aside from that, they also have their blog where you can learn much about things like dedicated server, webhosting types, VPS hosting, domain names, SEO, and many more. It is good to visit this site and read their reviews before deciding to buy web hosting package from some web hosting provider.

So if you are on the verge of starting your own online business, don;t dive in yet, be sure to have a good knowledge first about the things I've mentioned above. If you are confident that you have gleaned all the necessary knowledge then you can happily put your head into it. Remember that your success in your online ventures is dependent on your creativity, SEO knowledge, and web hosting provider. If you got the best of this three, it'd be difficult to fail.

Vidyartha College Facebook virus

Thursday, October 1, 2009

I have just read about this so-called Vidyartha College Facebook virus. I am on Facebook and I am on it everyday but I haven't heard anyone that I know in Facebook complaining about this virus. According to the three different blog posts that I have read about it, many Facebook users have reported about being brought to Vidyartha College page instead of where they wanted to go in the first place. This story has spread from user to user but no actual report has been heard of yet. Let's just wait and see is this thing will become big.

Tuesday, September 29, 2009

Dell Latitude z600 is not for everyone. Not everyone can afford a notebook that is worth $1,999. What mkes it that expensive? Is it the thinness of the z600? Is it the 1.4-GHz Core 2 Duo SU9400 processor and 2GB of RAM which is upgradable to 4GB? HHere is the specs of the z600:

16″ display screen @ 1600×900 pixels
Intel Core 2 Duo 1.4GHz
64GB Solid State Drive
2GB RAM

Microsoft Security Essentials Download

If you love freebies, I guess you know about Microsoft Security Essentials. This antivirus software is Microsoft's answer to expensive computer security tools that are swamping the software market today. Microsoft Security Essential or MSE is a totally free software. It has just came out of its beta stage and is now available for download. It is available for Windows XP, Vista, and the new Windows 7. Though it is a freeware, it can do a lot of things that paid antivirus software can do like real-time monitoring of your system, protection from viruses, malwares, and other malicious software.

If you are using a pirated version of the Windows operating system, never mind trying to download it because you will not be able to install it. That's what I know, I haven't tried installing it on a PC that runs pirated Windows OS.

OpenACircle The Best Way to Collaborate

Sunday, September 20, 2009

When it comes to total online collaboration, what comes into your mind? You'd probably think of different kinds of tools for different online collaboration needs-- you have a tool for presentations, another tool for white boarding, and another for web conferencing. You think that total online collaboration is not really that easy to achieve. That was then, before there was OpenACircle, the total online collaboration tool that allows you to do things like innovative screen-sharing and video conferencing quite easily. OpenACircle is actually all your collaboration tools rolled into one; it allows you to share files, documents, pictures ( and even your desktop) and video conference with up to 50 people in private collaboration circles. It is easy to set up your private workplace where you can collaborate with your team. You can upload documents, spreadsheets, PDFs, PowerPoints, or any other type of file to OpenACircle so that your team can use them easily. OpenACircle is easy to use, a user simply needs to open a circle (a virtual team collaboration space where everyone can share information and work with each other in an environment focused on one particular area of a task or project) and invite people to collaborate and work with. When you open a circle you and your team will have an environment that is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, where you can meet up and become productive. And if you are always on the move, OpenACircle is a very convenient way for you to attend meetings and conferences even if you are on the move.

I guess OpenAcircle is so far the best way to collaborate, it has everything that a small or midium-sized company needs to be able to get teamwork flow more effectively for the desired results.I guess OpenAcircle is so far the best way to collaborate, it has everything that a small or midium-sized company needs to be able to get teamwork flow more effectively and bring good results. It is even quite safe to say that OpenACircle is the future of collaboration.

The Next Big Thing From the Creator of Twitter

Friday, September 18, 2009

In a tweetup just a few hours ago, Jack Dorsey, the inventor of Twitter has revealed that he “came back to St. Louis to find the next thing." And he found it. But what is this next big thing that is in the making? Dorsey did not reveal much about it but said that the not yet named project will focus on the “three concepts (of Twitter) : immediacy, transparency and approachability.”

To give us some clue as to what it is that he's working on, let us read Dorsey's explanation of Twitter :
“Twitter was intended to be a way for vacant, self-absorbed egotists to share their most banal and idiotic thoughts with anyone pathetic enough to read them. When I heard how Iranians were using my beloved creation for their own means—such as organizing a political movement and informing the outside world of the actions of a repressive regime—I couldn’t believe they’d ruined something so beautiful, simple, and absolutely pointless.”
Now what Dorsey is cooking up a "new website that will be so mind-numbingly useless that Iranians will not even be able to figure out how to operate it.”

Then what is it? I still do not have a clue. How about you?

Facebook Down September 18

Facebook was down today? I did know that it was down because I was in facebook for most of this morning but I did not notice anything was down, but I did notice that posting on my wall was not as smooth as ever, whn I hit the blue button to post something on the wall it sort of hanged. Well, that was the nearest thing to Facbook being down today.

Free Business Cards

Tuesday, September 15, 2009

When something is offered for free don't jump on it immediately because nothing is free nowadays. When something is "free" there is always a catch and you realize later that it's not free after all. For example, you want a business card for yourself and you do not want to spend a lot for it so you'd probably try searching first in the net using the keyword "free business cards" and of course the search engine will return a lot of sites that offer "free business cards." But most of these sites do not really give away their designs for free, they make you spend for something else before you can have the what you want. The best thing to do is not to try to find the free ones. It is better to try to find the affordable ones. A good place to get good quality business cards is 123print.com, they have tons of business cards. the good thing about 123print.com is that you can spend as little as $1.99 you'll get 30 high-quality, full-color business cards, that you can customize. And if you really like their business cards, you can upgrade to 100 cards for only $3.95. If you are looking for an affordable way to have good quality business cards, it's a good thing to visit 123print.com before trying to find "free" business cards somewhere else.

Google Fast Flip

Monday, September 14, 2009

Google Fast Flip was officially released on Monday and it is now available on Google Labs. Fast Flip is an online tool that allows users to flip through articles quickly, as if they are just flipping through the pages of a real newspaper or magazine. This tool is obviously aimed at motivating people to read more online. Watch the video below of Google executive Marissa Mayer and team demonstrate Google Fast Flip at Techcrunch50.

Fan Check Virus Snopes

Last week I posted about the Facebook Fan Check virus and how it could possibly be just a hoax. Now it is becoming quite clear that it is really just a hoax, something manufactured by people who live for the Lulz. Have you encountered anyone who really got his PC infected with this virus? So far I haven't read any report about a real victim of this virus. But of course we should always be cautious and refrain from using Facebook Fan Check application for now. I am not a Fan check user so the chance of getting my machine infected is somewhat remote.

Yahoo Fantasy Football

Sunday, September 13, 2009

If you are addicted to fantasy sports then this one's for you: Yahoo Fantasy Football for Blackberry. What are its features? Here they are:
* Live Scoring: Free this year! Follow your team as the games happen – in real time.
* Roster Management: Quarterback injured? No problem. Bench him and start your backup right from your phone.
* Add and drop players: No longer happy with your running back? Simple. Drop him from your team and search for a new one.
* Matchups: Not sure who you play next week? No need to stop what you’re doing, just grab your BlackBerry and check.
But the sad thing is that it's not supported in all Blackberry models, it is only supported on Bold, Curve 8900, and Tour.
