Mocospace

What social network is growing fast today? You may say Facebook but Facebook is out of the question, Facebook is already there, lets talk about something that is not that known but is growing fast because of word-of-mouth. Well, I think it's Mocospace. This mobile social networking community designed for people with feature phones, announced at the CTIA convention in Las Vegas that it registered its six millionth user last Friday.

In January 2008, the community had only 2 million members. The company also shared the results of a study by Openwave that found MocoSpace members spend an average of 6.05 minutes per session using the service—more than MySpace mobile users (3.79 minutes) and Facebook mobile users (1.89 minutes).

"We continue to experience terrific word of mouth growth mostly among younger consumers looking for a great mobile experience and certainly the Openwave report confirms our ability to capture their attention," said Justin Siegel, co-founder and CEO of MocoSpace. "Very few, if any, companies have the depth and breadth of information that Openwave has, so it's very exciting that they are sharing some of this information and of course it's nice that it validates our own data, which indicate that MocoSpace is really growing in popularity and relevance."
