The Next Big Thing From the Creator of Twitter

Friday, September 18, 2009

In a tweetup just a few hours ago, Jack Dorsey, the inventor of Twitter has revealed that he “came back to St. Louis to find the next thing." And he found it. But what is this next big thing that is in the making? Dorsey did not reveal much about it but said that the not yet named project will focus on the “three concepts (of Twitter) : immediacy, transparency and approachability.”

To give us some clue as to what it is that he's working on, let us read Dorsey's explanation of Twitter :
“Twitter was intended to be a way for vacant, self-absorbed egotists to share their most banal and idiotic thoughts with anyone pathetic enough to read them. When I heard how Iranians were using my beloved creation for their own means—such as organizing a political movement and informing the outside world of the actions of a repressive regime—I couldn’t believe they’d ruined something so beautiful, simple, and absolutely pointless.”
Now what Dorsey is cooking up a "new website that will be so mind-numbingly useless that Iranians will not even be able to figure out how to operate it.”

Then what is it? I still do not have a clue. How about you?
