Quit Facebook Day

Some people who are disgusted with Facebook's intrusive new “privacy” practices have set May 31st as Quit Facebook Day. There is a site named QuitFacebookDay.com which aims to entice as many Facebook users as possible to quit the social network by May 31, 2010. The plan is to have a "mass exodus" on that said date. As of this writing there are 13394 committed Facebook quitters according to the site's count. How many percent is that of the 400 Million Facebook users worldwide?

Here is the explanation of the creators of QuitFacebookDay.com why they are quitting Fabebook:

For us it comes down to two things: fair choices and best intentions. In our view, Facebook doesn't do a good job in either department. Facebook gives you choices about how to manage your data, but they aren't fair choices, and while the onus is on the individual to manage these choices, Facebook makes it damn difficult for the average user to understand or manage this. We also don't think Facebook has much respect for you or your data, especially in the context of the future.

Quit Facebook Day

For a lot of people, quitting Facebook revolves around privacy. This is a legitimate concern, but we also think the privacy issue is just the symptom of a larger set of issues. The cumulative effects of what Facebook does now will not play out well in the future, and we care deeply about the future of the web as an open, safe and human place. We just can't see Facebook's current direction being aligned with any positive future for the web, so we're leaving.

Hmmmnnn... is it time to quit Facebook? Are you sick of Facebook's lack of respect for your personal information? Are you quitting Facebook? Are you going to commit to quitting Facebook on May 31, 2010? Don't mind answering the questions, I know what you'll say. In the meantime, let me end this post here because I need to log on to Facebook.

Pac-Man 30th Anniversary Free Download


Pac-Man is one of the best electronic games ever created; the idea behind the game is very simple but the game has endured the test of time, it is still here and still good enough to entertain us. Now Pac-Man is in its 30th year and it is still very good, the game is timeless. To commemorate the 30th year of Pac-Man, Google has turned its homepage loge into a Pac-Man playable game board that is playable; when you are on Google you can click on "Insert Coin" button (where the "I'm Feeling Lucky" used to be) and start playing Pac-Man right on Google's homepage.

And there is even some buzz about a Pac-Man 30th Anniversary Free Download but I checked around and found nothing free at all, there is a "free download" of the game being offered from some sites but those are trial versions of the game, only playable for 60 minutes and you'd be prompted to buy it after the free 60 minutes playtime is consumed. The only really free way to play the game is through Google's homepage.

If you are always using Google (who doesn't?) then you have probably noticed its new look and feel. I noticed Google's new look a few days ago. The most obvious change is the new contextually relevant left-hand panel on the SERP. This new panel enables the user to fine tune the search, allowing for a lot of ways to get to the most relevant search result. If you haven't notice it, there is a drop-down button at the bottom of the left-hand panel of the SERP, it is the "More search tools". If you click that button you will be presented with a lot of possibilities to fine tune your search and to reach at what you are targeting more accurately and quickly.

Another change in Google is the logo. I know that most Google users do not notice it immediately but the logo has changed. Yes, the logo has changed, it is now simpler but brighter. Here is the Google logo change, the before and after, see the difference?
