Rumors has it that Microsoft is planning to run a public beta test of Windows 7 beta 1 this December. As of now no one knows how Microsoft would go about distributing Windows 7 beta to the public but there's a buzz that Microsoft Connect would be used to administer the test and sign up of beta testers. Now, Are you excited? As for me, not really. I am just curious as to how the next Windows would fare.

Microsoft should also be clear about the system requirements of this new version of Windows. One of the reasons why Vista failed is because Microsoft failed to inform the public properly that Vista is not for older systems. I hope Windows 7 won't require us to do major hardware upgrades in order for us to be able to enjoy its full potential.
